Persian Poem

Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth, "You owe me."
Look what happens with a Love like that!
—It lights the whole Sky. (Hafiz)

Kaistiana

For two years (05 & 06) I played an online game called World of Warcraft http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml
It was a virtual world of over 10 million players. What I find interesting is the fact that I quested with Kaistiana for over 12 hours at a time on weekends but we always stayed in character i.e. we never disclosed our real names. I was Ayubi and she was Kaistiana.

Tasting new wines

Usually I like white wines like Riesling but tonight I decided to try two new ones: Amarone from Italy and Kies Gruner Veltiner from Austria.

I liked the Amarone but not so much the Gruner Veltiner.

Occasionally I drink Vodka or Don Julio Anejo Tequila.

Most of the time I like to cook myself but tonight I'm going to make a wrap with Shami Kabab (Kidney Beans, Gram Lintels...), Lahori Chole (Chick Peas), Hummus, Tzatziki, Guacamole & Chevrita cheese.

Multi-cultural

During my automotive days in US, I used to be the only alien in the plant! But here in Canada, we have people from all over the world. I organized a lunch at work on the 14Th of August and in that group, we only had one person whose country of origin was Canada. We had representation from Bangladesh, Canada, China, Columbia, England, Mexico, Pakistan, Taiwan, Moldova and Nepal. Most of them prepared a dish from their country of origin.

Downtown 20 OCT 09

I'm looking forward to moving close to downtown next month to an area called the Beltline. I have always lived in suburban type areas so this will be a new experience for me. I have a feeling I will enjoy the walking and cycling life style. Yoga studio, the river, bike paths and the free downtown train will only be a short walk. I have never had a chance to use public transportation except while visiting cities like New York or Tokyo, so checking out the Calgary C-train will be new too. I'm excited about all the fun stuff to do in downtown and meeting new people! Maybe I'll even run into some eccentric liberals in the cow town ;)
